Mental clarity & performance even under high pressure — for people who carry a heavy load and have little time to spare. For organizations, these skills also translate into healthier teams, better collaboration and fewer stress-related conflicts.

Emotions are information carriers.

People remain capable of taking action when their emotions are understood, regulated, and supported.

Looking back, I can say that whether as a child, a business student in the U.S. for six years, a competitive ice hockey player for 20 years, or an employee or manager in the financial sector (10 years):
in the end, it was always my emotions—or rather, how I dealt with them—that made the difference.

Your Stress & Emotions Coach in the Black Forest area

I use structured, evidence-based approaches to promote stress management skills, resilience, and emotional regulation.

My name is Jessica Silis, and I’m passionate about helping people tap into their own superpowers, even when everyday life throws a curveball.

There will always be challenges in life. However, if we understand how they affect us and those around us, we gain the flexibility to respond. We can stay proactive instead of becoming paralyzed. We can overcome challenges and even grow from them. That is resilience in action.

If you want to look beyond the usual meditation topics and aren't interested in run-of-the-mill stress management and burnout prevention, feel free to get in touch!

If you’d like to find out more about stress coaching, check out this article I wrote for I AM EXPAT:

First Steps

1. You schedule your free introductory consultation.

2. I’ll send you a short questionnaire to fill out and return before our meeting.

3. We’ll have an open discussion about your situation and goals: where are you now, and where do you want to go?

4. I’ll suggest a coaching plan that fits your needs, including the cost—no pressure. You can take your time to decide.

What you get out of the Coaching

  • Gain clarity on your true stress triggers: what part do you play in your stress?

  • Tools for effectively regulating emotions (rather than suppressing them)

  • Resolving inner conflicts and old patterns

  • Stronger inner resources for role changes, losses, and conflicts

  • More enjoyment and zest for life—without feeling guilty

  • Lasting change instead of short-term motivation

Coaching helps you develop emotional intelligence and self-regulation—whether through online coaching or in-person sessions.

Individual change in dysfunctional stress and behavioral patterns

Not all stress is bad!

It is the same with fire - it all depends on how you manage it:
Fire can keep your home comfortably warm or burn it to the ground — what happens is up to YOU.

Here’s an article on 3 stress myths that I wrote for I AM EXPAT:

These days, we look at screens more often than we look into other people's faces.

DaThis has significant consequences: the average emotion recognition rate today stands at 62.7%.
This means: we misinterpret nearly every other facial expression—or fail to notice it altogether!

We are losing our human intelligence and wonder why other people stress us out and why we find it difficult to form genuine interpersonal connections.

In an age when AI is all the rage, HI is giving people their voice back.

Client Feedback

  • “I did the bottleneck analysis with Jess and I also attended her seminar on emotions. I felt that I was in very good hands with her on both counts. Not only because of the expertise she has, but also because of her relaxed and easy-going manner. I can really recommend the bottleneck analysis. I was able to get to the bottom of a number of issues that put stress on me. Using the structure of the bottleneck analysis makes the issues a lot more tangible, because you recognize patterns and nexuses. That way, you can really get to the bottom of things and comprehend what’s going on, recognize your part in all of this. I’d like to add that up until that point, I had not done any coachings before. I'm a lot more open to it now. The right guidance can definitely help you get a better grip on your issues, better than tackling them alone.”

  • "An on-line article called “Unlock your superpowers: Why it makes sense to work with a stress coach” caught my eye. I was intrigued to learn more about stress and emotions and how to understand and manage these better. The fact that Jessica offered a free consultation gave me a chance to understand how the coaching would work and if I felt she was someone I could work with. The initial consultation went well. I found Jessica to be very open and friendly. The fact that she spoke fluent English was a plus for me. She‘s also very flexible with appointment times, which as a busy working mum was crucial, as I needed to find a time that I could commit to around everything else. At the end of the consultation, I’d signed up to a coaching course. Jessica took time to get to know and understand me. Her approach has many tools available. Some we tried and they didn’t really suit me so we quickly moved on to others. The bottleneck analysis was my favourite. Using a template and key steps over a few sessions, I was able to identify key challenges I was facing and the connections between them. We identified the underlying bottleneck and practical ways to address this. This was an approach and a tool I was not familiar with and I think made this coaching experience different to others I have undertaken in the past. It was a fast-track way to really understand the biggest issue to work on, which I found quickly led to improvements across many areas of my life. It was immensely satisfying to feel the progress I was making. I would definitely recommend Jessica as a coach. She has an easy, friendly style. The practical approach is adapted to make it more personal. What can be a difficult and awkward topic (at least for me) she makes less daunting and more fun. The first free consultation allows you to see if her style and approach would suit you. Give her a try, you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain! "

  • "I had to chance to be part of a keynote Jessica did on stress and emotions. The talk was very informative and Jessica’s way of raising awareness and imparting knowledge is extremely entertaining. She held the keynote in perfect English. I can recommend her keynotes and workshops to anyone who would like to know more about the important topics of stress and emotions. Thank you, Jessica, for the valuable work you’re doing."

The Bottleneck Analysis - your precise start into the Coaching process

Before we get started, let’s figure out where the problem lies
Many coaching processes start with good intentions but without a clear definition of the problem and goals. That’s why I take a different approach: Every 1:1 coaching session with me begins with a structured bottleneck analysis. During this process, we re-calibrate your focus and start training your metacognition.

The bottleneck analysis is a targeted diagnostic tool that allows us to identify, in just 1–2 sessions, the key individual bottleneck that is currently having the greatest impact on your performance and well-being.

Imagine a game of chess: instead of making countless aimless moves, you win by identifying the one decisive move that changes the entire game. We’ll find exactly that critical bottleneck in your stress and emotional patterns—instead of taking many small steps, we’ll focus on the most effective point.

  • In a structured conversation, we’ll take a look together at:

    • What recurring patterns of stress and emotions (e.g., internal drivers, perfectionism, conflict avoidance, or feeling overwhelmed) do you experience, and how do they manifest in your behavior?

    • In what situations and with what people do these patterns become particularly pronounced?

    • Which single, key personal bottleneck has the greatest impact on your stress levels, energy, and well-being?

  • Through the bottleneck analysis, we identify the most effective levers for sustainable change and don’t waste time treating symptoms. At the same time, the bottleneck analysis ensures maximum transparency and measurability. This is what makes the coaching process truly effective.

  • You can also book the bottleneck analysis as a standalone service. This typically takes 3–5 hours, spread over 1–2 sessions. Afterward, you’ll receive your bottleneck analysis via email, along with a link to the Miro board. You can book your personalized bottleneck analysis for €649 plus 19% VAT.

How you know that it’s time to change something:

  • On the outside, you seem to be functioning just fine, but inside you’re exhausted.

  • You’re more irritable than you used to be.

  • You keep telling yourself you’re going to make a change—but you always end up falling back into the same pattern.

  • You feel like you’re just getting through each day instead of shaping it.

“I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is they must change if they are to get better.” — Georg C. Lichtenberg

EQ Coaching Packages: Your Investment in Greater Resilience

Our brain needs 3–5 repetitions before it recognizes a pattern. Therefore, a single session is often not enough if we want to achieve real, lasting change. Each session lasts about 2 hours. We typically need 1–2 sessions to conduct the bottleneck analysis.

For increased resilience and performance.

  • New Perspectives

  • New Paths

  • New Results

  • It depends on the issue. An initial concern can sometimes be addressed in just a few sessions. Deeper patterns that have developed over the years will naturally take more time. A session lasts about 90–120 minutes. After the free initial consultation, I’ll provide you with a specific proposal—with no pressure and no hidden packages.

  • When we’re under stress, we tend to have tunnel vision. We tune out everything that doesn’t pose a threat to our survival, so we don’t even notice it. That’s exactly when it’s important to get an outside perspective. In short: I help you identify your blind spots so you can recognize the moments when your autopilot is doing you more harm than good.

I’m at the helm. So I’ll make sure you reach your destination.

As your coach, I ensure effectiveness and efficiency (“doing the right things” and “doing things right”). You, as an everyday hero, put it into practice and really make it happen.

  • No—and that’s an important distinction. Therapy treats mental health conditions. Coaching is for people who are generally functioning but realize: I can’t and don’t want to keep going this way. If you have a mental health condition, therapy is the first step. I’m being upfront about this because your well-being is more important to me than a booking.

    • You’ll reach your goal faster with my help than if you were working on it alone

    • My guidance increases the likelihood that you’ll achieve your goal

    • I’ll equip you with practical, sustainable tools for everyday life so that you can continue to navigate your daily routine with calm and focus for years to come

    • I’ll make sure you enjoy the process

    • My guidance will minimize your emotional distress

    • I ensure that you set authentic goals

  • The free initial consultation lasts about 60–90 minutes and is non-binding. We’ll discuss what’s on your mind and whether emotional coaching is right for you. Only then will you make your decision.

  • Yes—all formats can be booked entirely online. Coaching via video call is just as effective as in-person sessions. In-person sessions take place in Villingen-Schwenningen.
